One afternoon Lizzy and Marc were sitting around talking about favorite childhood toys. Lizzy told Marc about when she was a little girl and her best friend Marsha had a pair of wooden stilts. Lizzy and Marsha got pretty good on the stilts and spent an entire summer walking around on them. Two kids on one pair of stilts is a pretty good trick. Whenever Lizzy and Marsha put them down there were other kids waiting for their turn. All of Lizzys sisters, brothers and cousins, Marshas brother and all the kids in the neighborhood were all over those stilts that summer. Everyone had a trick too.
Before the conversation was even over Lizzy and Marc were out in the barn building a set of stilts. Lizzy was up on them right away and couldn't believe that it all came back to her so quickly. Marc had never walked on stilts but after watching Lizzy for just a couple minutes he was up and walking. That evening Lizzy and Marc had some friends over and they wanted to try them out too. Everyone was having such a good time on them that Lizzy could not resist putting them on the website.

We have all been enjoying them. They are really made for kids but we have had up to 240LBS on them without incident.
As soon as we all got used to the regular stilts, Marc whipped up a pair of Extreme Stilts. These are really a challenge and you definitely want to have a building or a tree to lean against to get up there. Once you are on the second steps your center of gravity changes a lot so it takes a little getting used to but they're a whole lot of fun.  Regular wooden stilts have 6' uprights with a 15" step. Extreme Stilts have  8' uprights with steps at 15" and 30".
Look at where the top of Marcs head is in comparison to the tops of the doors behind him, that will give you a good idea of how much taller the Extreme Stilts are.

SOME THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
Stilts are for walking around. They are lots of fun but you should take the same precautions as if you were riding a bike or skateboard. Use helmets, elbow guards, knee pads, mouth pieces, chin guards, cushions, padding, and caution. A spotter is also a good idea. Having a person there with you to coach and encourage you can be very helpful especially when you are just starting out.
Lizzy and The Stuff Lizzy Makes is not responsible for any injury or loss stemming from the purchase, use, misuse or abuse of Lizzys wooden stilts. Please- buy them, use them, enjoy them, be smart and responsible and we will all be happy.
Stilts are not for jousting, sword fighting, sister poking, javelin practice, pol
e vaulting, or anything other than walking. Please use your stilts for good, not evil.
