Some things you should know about Lizzy's blocks
Lizzy has gone green, or at least she is trying to be green. When she can reuse lumber she does. Sometimes you will find a block that has a ditch in it or it looks like there have been screws in it . Its true, there have been. We like to call these the lucky blocks. They have been saved from a trip to the landfill or from the burn pile. Instead they will have a long, happy life with a boy or girl that will enjoy them and find that a handful of cheerios fits neatly in that ditch, that little hole makes a perfect lollipop holder, and a marble rolls perfectly straight in that little groove. Not every set will have one. Some sets may have a few. Imperfections have been heavily sanded to make sure there will be no splinters, thats what makes the ditches and grooves. All blocks will still stack nicely and will not impede a young architects progress. Although Lizzy does not recommend allowing the kids to chew on chunks of painted wood, she only uses non-toxic paints and sealers. Lizzy grew up in a large family and she understands that any toy(or any object for that matter) can become a weapon. The sharp corners have been sanded off of the blocks but getting whacked in the noggin with them can still hurt ALOT. If you are getting a set of blocks for a child that will be playing with other children or is just really clumsy please try to get the point across that they are not to be thrown or swung at other kids, pets, T.V. sets, parents, grandmas, grandpas, or baby sitters. It is a good idea to put your blocks back in their bag when not being used. Stepping on one in the middle of the night could cause your childs vocabulary to grow in ways you never intended. It will also help to avoid losing blocks and keep the dog from chewing one or two up. But it happens...if the dog chewed up the C and the A and he buried the T in the back yard, or if your big sister has a crush on some boy named Marc and now those letters are mysteriously missing. If the L was the perfect size to hold Dads workbench up or Mom needed a chunk of something to go under her motorcycles kickstand, you may need some replacement blocks. If you have a kid named Petey or Anna or Lizzy or something else with a letter that repeats, they would probably like to be able to spell out their name. No problem. You can order extra blocks. Just drop Lizzy an e-mail, tell her what you need and she will get them right out to you. If you want to order some extras at the same time you order your set you can do so at that time. Extra blocks or replacement blocks are just $5 each. When ordering replacement blocks please let Lizzy know if you have your heart set on a particular drawing. If you wanted C is for cactus be sure to let her know, otherwise you might get candle or capybara. Lizzys blocks are intended to be fun and sneakily educational at the same time. She encourages playing right along with the kids. Discuss the drawings, talk about words, thats why Lizzy uses things like T is for tarantula and A is for aardvark. Besides, its fun to say aardvark. When is the last time you played with blocks? You might just remember how much fun such a simple toy can be. Nothing makes Lizzy happier than getting pictures and hearing stories about where her stuff is and how its doing. Please help keep Lizzy happy and send out a picture of the kids (young and old) playing with Lizzy blocks, carrying a Lizzy bag or using a Lizzy smock. There will be a new page going up soon with photos. We'd love to see you on it. Have fun and enjoy your blocks. Lizzy's educational blocks
